Updated every Monday. This edition: weekend of 15–18 October 2026, updated Monday evening 19 October.

Every Monday we round up the India box office of the weekend just gone. This week it belongs to Rajinikanth: Jailer 2, which opened on Thursday 15 October, had a four-day opening weekend of about ₹200 crore net in India and more than ₹400 crore gross worldwide. Sacnilk puts the worldwide figure at ₹424 crore and Pinkvilla at about ₹402 crore. Ajay Devgn's Drishyam: The Conclusion held on in its third weekend. Friday's three new arrivals, Ranabaali, Nayyi Navelli and Prahaar, all opened modestly. In Hollywood, Street Fighter topped the global chart but made little noise here.

A word on the numbers. All figures below are trade estimates, not certified collections. Unless we say otherwise they come from Sacnilk, checked again on Monday evening (its pages were last updated at 8:03 PM IST). Sunday (18 October) figures below are now settled; only Monday (19 October) readings are still early estimates. Where Pinkvilla, Bollywood Hungama or others give a different figure, we name them. We found no official producer figures for any of these films, including from Sun Pictures for Jailer 2.

Jailer 2: day-wise collection and opening weekend

Nelson Dilipkumar's sequel had a Thursday release, so its "opening weekend" is four days. Sacnilk's day-wise India net:

DayDateIndia net
Day 1 (Thu)15 Oct₹59.70 crore
Day 2 (Fri)16 Oct₹37.10 crore
Day 3 (Sat)17 Oct₹47.25 crore
Day 4 (Sun)18 Oct₹55.85 crore
Opening weekend₹199.90 crore net (₹234.25 crore gross)
Day 5 (Mon)19 Oct₹31.73 crore (early estimate)

Sacnilk adds about ₹190 crore from overseas, for a four-day worldwide gross of about ₹424 crore. Sunday had looked shaky. Reports quoting live data during the day put it at about ₹38–41 crore (ETV Bharat had ₹40.61 crore at the time of writing). Those were partial readings taken before the night shows were counted. Sacnilk's Monday evening update keeps Day 4 at ₹55.85 crore net, so that is the settled Sacnilk number.

Pinkvilla's counts are lower. It puts the four-day India gross at about ₹224 crore, against Sacnilk's ₹234.25 crore. It also puts overseas at about $18.7 million, the biggest international opening for a Kollywood film, with the Middle East ($6.36 million) and the US ($4.14 million) on top. That gives Pinkvilla a worldwide weekend of about ₹402 crore, against Sacnilk's ₹424.25 crore; an earlier Pinkvilla report on Monday had said ₹410 crore. Sun Pictures had not announced a figure of its own when we checked. Whichever tracker you follow, the film crossed ₹400 crore worldwide in four days.

Early Monday numbers point to a solid hold. Sacnilk's live reading for Day 5 (19 October) was ₹31.73 crore net at 8:03 PM IST, taking the India total to about ₹231.63 crore net. That is an early estimate and will change by the end of the night.

Sacnilk's language split shows how much of this is Tamil. Of the ₹199.90 crore net, about ₹143.70 crore came from the Tamil version and ₹37.75 crore from Telugu. Kannada added ₹1.80 crore. Sacnilk lists no separate Malayalam figure.

Jailer 2 (Hindi) separately

The Hindi dub is a much smaller story. Sacnilk has it at ₹16.65 crore net after four days, including ₹5.75 crore on Sunday. Bollywood Hungama's tracker is lower: ₹2.56, ₹2.41, ₹3.63 and ₹4.56 crore from Thursday to Sunday, for an opening weekend of ₹13.16 crore. So the Hindi weekend sits between about ₹13 crore and ₹17 crore, depending on the tracker. On Monday both trackers had the Hindi version at a little over ₹2 crore by the evening (early estimates).

Drishyam: The Conclusion: third weekend

Drishyam 3 had a big opening and a solid second week, and has now settled into a steady run. Sacnilk's third-weekend figures:

DayDateIndia net
Day 15 (Fri)16 Oct₹3.10 crore
Day 16 (Sat)17 Oct₹5.00 crore
Day 17 (Sun)18 Oct₹6.25 crore
Third weekend₹14.35 crore

Bollywood Hungama's tracker is close: ₹3 crore, ₹5 crore and ₹6 crore, for a third weekend of ₹14 crore. On Sacnilk's count the film is at ₹347.35 crore net in India (₹416.27 crore gross) and ₹538.27 crore gross worldwide after 17 days, with ₹122 crore from overseas. Bollywood Hungama's India total is lower, at about ₹341 crore before Monday. The third weekend is down about 77% on the second weekend's ₹63.5 crore (Sacnilk's day-wise figures). Monday's early readings were about ₹2.4–2.7 crore. The full day-by-day run is in our Drishyam: The Conclusion box office report, and last week's head-to-head is in Jailer 2 vs Drishyam 3.

  • Ranabaali (Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna): most of its money is coming from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where Sacnilk puts Sunday at ₹7.25 crore of the ₹8.75 crore India gross. Pinkvilla reported ₹24.50 crore worldwide after two days and called for better trends, so a weekend of ₹37 crore worldwide (Sacnilk) is a soft start for a film of its scale. More in our Ranabaali guide.
  • Nayyi Navelli (Yami Gautam Dhar): it grew on both Saturday and Sunday and edged ahead of Prahaar. Bollywood Hungama's tracker is lower (₹3.25, ₹3.80 and ₹3.79 crore, a ₹10.84 crore weekend) and has Sunday flat rather than up, while Amar Ujala matches Sacnilk's ₹4.40 crore Sunday. See our Nayyi Navelli story and cast guide.
  • Prahaar (Rajkummar Rao as Ujjwal Nikam): it also grew across the weekend, but from a lower start, with ₹12.86 crore gross worldwide on Sacnilk's count. Our Prahaar guide covers the story and reviews.
  • Street Fighter: Deadline and Variety both report a $51.1 million global opening, enough for number one worldwide. In India it made about ₹4 crore net in three days. About ₹2.55 crore of that came from the English version and ₹1.41 crore from Hindi. See our Street Fighter guide.

Coming this Friday (23 October)
