The Terminal List is finally back. Season 2 of the action thriller starring Chris Pratt as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece premieres on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, a little over four years after the first season came out in July 2022. All eight episodes stream at once on Prime Video, and this time the story adapts Jack Carr's second Reece novel, True Believer. Below you'll find the release date and the India timing, the returning and new cast, what the season is about, how it connects to Season 1 and the prequel Dark Wolf, and the best order to watch everything in.

Release date and time in India

The date is confirmed. Prime Video's own announcement and trade coverage all give 21 October 2026, and the episode listing on TMDB has all eight episodes dated that day, so you can binge the whole season from launch day.

No exact release time has been announced for India. Big international series usually unlock at one moment worldwide, so in India it may appear during the day on 21 October rather than at 12 AM IST.

In the US there is an extra event: according to ScreenRant, the Season 2 premiere gets one-night-only screenings in Regal's RPX theatres on 20 October, the day before it streams.

Language: Season 1 came out in India in English with Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada dubs. No list of Indian languages for Season 2 has been published yet, so treat a Hindi dub on day one as likely but unconfirmed.

What is Season 2 about? (no spoilers)

Season 1 was a revenge thriller set mostly in the United States. Season 2 moves into international espionage. The official synopsis picks up after Reece has finished his list and is looking for a new purpose. He gets pulled into a conspiracy that stretches "from Moscow to Langley" and ties into his own family's history. The story moves across the Indian Ocean, southern and northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

That matches the book. In Carr's True Believer, Reece is a wanted man after the events of The Terminal List, and the CIA draws him back in to stop a wave of terror attacks.

Season 1 recap (light spoilers)

Spoiler note: this section covers the setup of Season 1 only, not its twists or its ending. Skip it if you haven't watched yet.

Season 1 premiered on 1 July 2022 with eight episodes. It is based on Carr's 2018 debut novel The Terminal List. Reece's platoon is ambushed on a covert mission overseas, and he comes home as one of the only survivors, with gaps in his memory and doubts about what really happened. When the people around him start dying too, he realises the ambush was no accident. He makes a list of everyone responsible and goes after them one by one. Taylor Kitsch plays his close friend Ben Edwards, and Constance Wu plays Katie Buranek, a reporter digging into the same story. By the end, Reece has become a fugitive, and that is where True Believer picks up.

How Dark Wolf fits in

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel that ran from 27 August to 24 September 2025. It launched with three episodes, followed by one new episode a week, seven in all. It tells Ben Edwards' origin story, following Taylor Kitsch's character from the Navy SEALs into the CIA's covert Special Operations side, years before Season 1. Pratt appears as Reece. Reports disagree on exactly how far back it is set, with five and seven years both quoted. Season 2 works without it, but the prequel introduces Raife, Mo, Jules and Tal.

The Terminal List watch order

Release order (recommended for first-time viewers):

  1. The Terminal List Season 1 (2022), 8 episodes
  2. The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (2025), 7 episodes
  3. The Terminal List Season 2 (21 October 2026), 8 episodes

Story order: Dark Wolf first, then Season 1, then Season 2. This order works, but watching Dark Wolf first takes the edge off some of Season 1's character reveals, so release order is the safer choice the first time through.

Trailer

A teaser trailer came out on 20 August 2026, together with the premiere date and first-look photos. A full trailer followed later. It shows a heavily bearded Reece on a globe-trotting mission.
