New Movies on TV This Week: World TV Premieres (18–24 Oct)

Updated every Saturday. This edition covers Sunday 18 October to Saturday 24 October 2026.

Every week we pick out the new movies coming to Indian TV: World Television Premieres, festive specials and movie marathons on Hindi channels such as Star Gold, Sony Max, Zee Cinema, Colors Cineplex and &pictures, and on South channels such as Sun TV, KTV, Gemini, Star Vijay, Star Maa and Asianet. We only list a telecast if at least two reports confirm it or the channel announced it itself, so we leave out the rumour lists that fill up on festival weeks. This week includes Dussehra on Tuesday, 20 October, so it is a festive week, and the biggest premiere is on Sunday: Dhurandhar The Revenge on Star Gold.

This week at a glance

• Biggest premiere: Dhurandhar The Revenge (Hindi), World TV Premiere on Star Gold, Sunday 18 October, 7 PM.
• Festive marathon: Sony MAX's "MAX Dussehra Express", a new film every night from 17 to 23 October at 8 PM.
• South: JioStar has announced dubbed Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions of Dhurandhar The Revenge for October, but has not given dates. No other South channel premiere for this week could be confirmed.
• Not confirmed this week: Zee Cinema, &pictures, Colors Cineplex, Sun TV, KTV, Gemini TV and Zee Telugu/Tamil had not announced a premiere for 18 to 24 October when we published.

Hindi movies on TV this week

Dhurandhar The Revenge on Star Gold (Sunday, 7 PM)

The sequel to Aditya Dhar's spy thriller, again starring Ranveer Singh, gets its television debut on Star Gold on Sunday evening. JioStar first gave the 18 October date in the festive premiere slate it announced on 22 September. Koimoi and NewsBytes have since reported the 7 PM slot and say the film is airing only on Star Gold. The film reached cinemas in March and has been streaming since June, so this is the first time it will be shown on regular TV.

To get a sense of the audience: JioStar said the first film's TV premiere in June, on Star Gold, Star Gold 2 and Colors Cineplex, reached more than 53 million viewers. To catch up before Sunday, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is on NoWireTV.

Sony MAX's Dussehra Express (every night at 8 PM)

Instead of a single premiere, Sony MAX is running a week-long festive movie marathon, according to the channel's announcement as reported by Medianews4u. It runs from 17 to 23 October at 8 PM. The announced films are:

• Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
• Lagaan
• Tere Ishk Mein
• Mardaani 3
• PK
• Kantara
• Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

The announcement does not say which film plays on which night, and it does not call any of them a premiere. That is why the table shows the marathon as one row. With seven films over seven nights, one of them should land on Dussehra night, Tuesday 20 October, but we don't know which.

Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies on TV this week

We could not confirm any South-channel premiere with an exact date for 18 to 24 October. JioStar's festive slate lists these titles for October, but without a day or time:

Because the Hindi version airs on Sunday, the dubbed versions could follow soon after, but nothing confirms that they air this week. Channels such as Star Vijay and Asianet usually reveal exact slots in on-air promos only a few days ahead. Sun TV, KTV and Gemini TV had not announced any Vijayadasami or Ayudha Puja premieres when we published, and neither had Zee Tamil or Zee Telugu. We will add any confirmed South premieres in next Saturday's edition.

Channels to keep on this week

Few premieres are confirmed for this week, so here are the movie channels most likely to show festive films around Dussehra:

• Hindi: Star Gold for Sunday's premiere, Sony MAX at 8 PM every night, and Colors Cineplex, Zee Cinema and &pictures for their regular festive blockbusters.
• Tamil: Sun TV and KTV usually build their festive movie schedules around Ayudha Puja and Vijayadasami, and Star Vijay has the JioStar Tamil slate.
• Telugu: Star Maa and Maa Movies for the JioStar Telugu titles, plus Gemini TV and Gemini Movies for Dasara.
• Malayalam and Kannada: Asianet and Asianet Movies, Surya TV, and Colors Kannada.

Most of these, including Star Gold HD, Sony Max HD, Colors Cineplex HD, Sun TV HD, KTV HD, Star Vijay HD, Maa Movies HD, Asianet HD and Sun Surya HD, are in NoWireTV's live TV section.

Coming next week

JioStar has announced Dhurandhar, the first film, for Sunday 25 October. It will air across Star Gold, Star Utsav Movies, Colors Cineplex Bollywood and Colors Cineplex Superhits. Welcome To The Jungle follows as a World Television Premiere on Star Gold on 1 November. Both will be in next Saturday's edition, with times once the channels announce them.
