Where to watch Koffee With Karan Season 9

Koffee With Karan Season 9 streams only on JioHotstar. It is a streaming show, not a TV channel programme, so it does not air live on any channel. Episode guide

JioHotstar has released the first episode and the promo for the second. We will add rows as each guest is confirmed.

Episode 1 recap: Salman Khan opens the final season

Salman came on alone. These are the moments reported by several outlets, including ThePrint, Outlook and MissMalini:

• Karisma Kapoor's surprise entry: Karisma joined midway as a special guest and ran the rapid fire round herself. Salman named her as the co-star he shared his best on-screen chemistry with and called her the most hard-working actor he had seen.
• Shah Rukh Khan: Salman brought up his old fallout with Shah Rukh, and in the rapid fire he called SRK his "brother".
• Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Karan recalled that Salman agreed to the film after hearing only the first half of the narration, and without negotiating a fee. Salman said he did it because of his bond with Karan's family.
• On criticism: he said he tries to turn negative comments into motivation to improve.
• On paparazzi: he criticised photographing celebrities who do not want to be photographed, separating that from publicity "sightings" arranged by stars and their teams.

Episode 2: Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna

The second episode has not aired yet. The promo came out on 18 October, and Pinkvilla and India.com report that it drops on Wednesday at 7 PM, which makes it 21 October 2026. Variety India gave Thursday, 22 October instead.

The couple, who married earlier this year, are on the couch while promoting their new film Ranabaali. Based on the promo, as reported by several outlets:

• They say there was no conventional proposal, and Vijay jokes that Rashmika had to ask him "100 times" to marry him.
• In the rapid fire, Rashmika picks her Pushpa co-star Allu Arjun over her Animal co-star Ranbir Kapoor.
• Asked who, apart from her, has the best on-screen chemistry with Vijay, Rashmika answers "nobody".

Who else is coming: the reported guest list

Before the premiere, Pinkvilla reported an exclusive list of names lined up for the season. Apart from Vijay and Rashmika, none of these has been officially announced, so treat them as reported or expected:

• Ananya Panday and Ananya Birla, together in one episode
• Alia Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt
• Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan
• Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan
• Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor
• Vedang Raina, Sharvari Wagh and Lakshya
• Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani – described by Pinkvilla as expected, with no confirmation yet

Treat any "confirmed full guest list" you see as speculation until JioHotstar announces each episode.

What's new this season

The biggest change is simply that this is the end. Karan announced Season 9 at the end of September with an emotional promo, saying that all good things have to come to an end and inviting viewers to have "one last cup of Koffee" with him. He described the season as a way of thanking everyone who made the show what it is – the friendships, the memories and, yes, the controversies.

In the same message he looked back at the show's history: the relationship headlines, the careers people said his remarks affected, and the "nepotism" label that followed him in recent years. He also recalled pitching the idea to his father, Yash Johar, who passed away in 2004 just months before the first episode was shot.

The opening choice said a lot about the mood. JioHotstar revealed Salman Khan as the first guest with a promo on 12 October, captioned along the lines of "You don't start the final Koffee without Bhai". Salman last opened the show back in Season 4, so it felt like a full-circle start. The premiere kept the familiar format – the couch, the rapid fire and the hamper – with a surprise guest as the new twist.

Rapid fire and the Koffee hamper

Every episode builds up to the Rapid Fire round. Karan fires a set of quick questions at each guest – about co-stars, rivals, dating rumours and industry gossip – and slow answers or passes are penalised. The guest with the best answers wins the famous Koffee hamper, a gift box with personalised coffee, the Koffee mug, treats and gadgets. Season 6 even added an "Answer of the Season" prize, which was a luxury car.

Over the years the show has added other segments too:

• Koffee Quiz – a Bollywood and general-knowledge quiz between guests, first seen in Season 4.
• Opinions – guests react to what other people have said about them.
• Koffee Awards – a tongue-in-cheek awards special held at the end of several seasons.

Most memorable moments from past seasons

• The very first episode (2004): Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol opened the show on Star World and set the tone for two decades of candid couch chats.
• A Hollywood guest: Richard Gere appeared solo in Season 2 (2007).
• The episode that was pulled (2019): a Season 6 episode with cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul was taken down after Pandya's comments drew heavy criticism.
• The move to streaming (2022): Season 7 left television for Disney+ Hotstar, opening with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
• A wedding first (2023): Season 8 opened with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and the episode showed their wedding video publicly for the first time.
