The Paradise OTT release: Netflix from 22 October

Netflix holds the digital rights. Netflix India announced the streaming date on 18 October 2026, and the film began streaming on 22 October 2026. Sacnilk, The Week, Deccan Chronicle and Telangana Today all reported the date. In cinemas it played in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. On Netflix it also streams in Kannada and Malayalam, so viewers in those languages can see it in their own language for the first time.

The film is not a TV channel premiere yet. No satellite broadcaster or TV premiere date has been announced. We will update this page if one is.

The Paradise story (spoiler-light)

The film is set in 1980s Secunderabad, in a slum settlement called Paradise. A nomadic, marginalised community lives there with no legal recognition, no voting rights and no proof of citizenship. Nani plays Jadal, the man who becomes their leader and pushes back against the discrimination and the powerful people who run the settlement. In the trade write-ups, the story is a mix of a community's fight for a place in society and a personal revenge drama. Reviews also mention a strong mother–son thread.

That is as far as we go here. The film runs long and is rated 'A' for its violence, so it is not one for younger viewers.

Cast of The Paradise

  • Nani as Jadal, the leader of the community
  • Kayadu Lohar – female lead
  • Mohan Babu – a key role on the side of power in the settlement
  • Raghav Juyal – a major role
  • Sonali Kulkarni
  • Sampoornesh Babu and Priyadarshi in supporting parts

Outlets differ on whether Mohan Babu or Raghav Juyal is the main villain, so we have not labelled either one.

Box office: Nani's biggest grosser, with a sharp drop

The Paradise had the biggest opening of Nani's career. The Week reported that it crossed ₹100 crore worldwide in three days, and Gulf News reported it passed ₹100 crore in India. Collections then fell steeply after the first weekend.

  • India net: about ₹120.8 crore (Sacnilk; The Week reports ₹120.79 crore by the third week)
  • Worldwide gross: about ₹173 crore (Sacnilk ₹173.21 crore; The Week about ₹173.41 crore)
  • Overseas gross: about ₹31 crore, according to Sacnilk

These are trade estimates, not figures from the makers. Several outlets still call the film a commercial underperformer for its scale, even though it is Nani's highest grosser.

  • Netflix arrival: the 22 October release means many viewers who skipped it in cinemas are watching it now, and in two more languages.
  • Nani–Odela reunion: Dasara was a big hit, so expectations were high, and The Paradise has now beaten its numbers.
  • Divided reviews: critics and audiences praised Nani's transformation, the 1980s world and Anirudh's background score, but criticised the slow second half and the heavy violence. Debate over the film is driving searches.
